Open Arms to
International Adoption operates under a set of guiding principles that govern our actions.
These principles were adopted by our membership of adoptive parents at our 1998 annual
meeting. The way in which we work, our relationship with you, and how your adoption will
be carried out are all dictated by these beliefs.

Guiding Principles
- Open Arms to International Adoption will operate with integrity
- Open Arms to International Adoption will respect and strictly adhere to all laws,
covenants and customs pertaining to adoption both in Canada and in countries where it is
facilitating adoptions
- Open Arms to International Adoption will not facilitate an adoption that endangers the
well-being of the child
- Open Arms to International Adoption will not profit in any way from facilitating
adoptions
Actions
- Open Arms will provide honest, accurate and detailed information on international
adoption
- Open Arms will provide thoughtful and timely advice to clients
- Open Arms will be compassionate and attentive to concerns and aspirations of its clients
- Open Arms will foster an on-going relationship with/between families who have adopted,
and who are currently completing adoptions
